At Cape Breton Podiatry, we provide comprehensive foot and ankle care, including everything from routine foot maintenance to surgical interventions. Our team is dedicated to improving mobility and foot health for all patients in the Cape Breton region.

Shawn graduated from the Michener Institute in 2015, after completing a Kinesiology degree at the University of Western Ontario. Shawn always had a keen interest in working in healthcare often contemplating physiotherapy, nursing and medical school. Shawn eventually found his calling as a Podiatrist.
Shawn’s clinical experience includes both working with a family health team in Cobourg ON, as well as multiple private practices in Oshawa, Whitby and Ajax ON. Since 2018 he was the primary practitioner at Keystone Podiatry's Sydney office and enjoyed every second of treating the community of Cape Breton. Shawn has always taken a keen interest in biomechanical assessments and gait analysis utilizing traditional Root theory as well as soft tissue stress theory to develop appropriate orthotics for all his patients.
In his spare time Shawn enjoys spending time with his wife Cass, daughters Scottie and Eloise, and his two dogs Millie and Stanley.

Cassandra Nabwangu completed her Master’s degree in Podiatry at the University of Brighton in England in 2025. Prior to this, she earned an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Ottawa in 2021.
Before pursuing her podiatry training, Cassandra worked for two years as a podiatry assistant in Ottawa, where she gained valuable hands-on experience in clinical practice. During this time, she developed a strong interest in custom orthotics, musculoskeletal conditions, and conservative treatment approaches, including shockwave therapy and kinesiology taping.
In the winter of 2025, Cassandra relocated to Sydney, Cape Breton from her native Ottawa, ON. She is passionate about providing patient-centred foot care and looks forward to supporting the foot health and mobility needs of the Cape Breton community.
